 Legal Assistant For Personal Injury Cases

Office Location: Charlotte, NC
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Overview
The Law Offices of DeBrun & Armstrong is a Charlotte-based plaintiff’s Personal Injury law firm with a strong team culture and excellent benefits. We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our growing practice. This role focuses on case management and requires a motivated professional who can manage files from intake through settlement while providing outstanding client service. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Handle pre-litigation personal injury cases from intake to settlement, including:
  • Communicating with clients on a daily basis and providing case updates
  • Setting up new claims with insurance carriers
  • Requesting and organizing medical records and billing documentation
  • Assisting with property damage claims
  • Preparing settlement demands for insurance carriers
  • Communicating with lien holders and assisting with lien reduction efforts
  • Preparing settlement statements and closing documentation
  • Maintaining accurate case notes, deadlines, and file organization
  • Assisting with other aspects of case management as needed

Qualifications

  • Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis
  • High degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion
  • Strong ability to empathize with clients and resolve conflicts
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to meet goals and work productively with minimal supervision
  • Self-management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Above-average typing skills (60+ words per minute)
  • Spanish-speaking candidates are preferred
